Saturday 3 November 2012

After some weeks of my new schedule, I decided to follow some of the mentoring classes my fellow Crimson Daggers members were doing. I won't post everything on the forum, but I'll do the mentoring from Sickbrush, Dan Warren, Isra, Brent and Shyam Shriram. The one from Sam Carr is good also, but dunno if I'll have time. I'm already out of time. Again, I'm not pretending to follow the classes, I'll do it at my own time.

I already did some from Isra and Sickbrush, about perspective. Now I focused on Shyam's. (all the master studies above are for his mentorship)

The Master studies:

Thursday 11 October 2012

Lots of things happening. :) Here's my latest works:

This one is a study after a photo from a girl in Suicide Girls:

This one I did on the Cintiq from College. Goooosh, I need to have one of those someday :)

This one is my submission for the Assassin's Creed challenge held by #brazil on dA. The results will come up october 20th.

This are a series of 5 paintings I did for my Illustration class. The first one I won't post here because I didnt liked it. My goal was to make a more loosey feel, however I failed as you can see and started adding too much detail. Need to work on that. The five illustrations were about Bernard Cornwell Saxon Stories.

And here are some of the sketches I did prior to the last piece (I didnt saved the other ones :c)

That's it for today folks! Hope to post more things soon.

A lion study for something I had in mind and gave up, and a doodle of a minotaur that was influenced by the 20+ studies of lions I did over the week.

Tuesday 11 September 2012

I got back from my hometown. It was very different this time, because I actually could do some studies with pencil in my sketchbooks :)

Well, this is what I did today, however, I couldnt get the image by Brent Hollowell (Cursed Prince) from my mind while I was doing this witch from the Wardstone Chronicles, Grimalkin!

Gosh, I just love that character. I'll try to do some more of her :)

Monday 3 September 2012

Oookay. I spend one week with my tablet and now I have to return to my hometown again ¬¬ Gosh, I can't stand this. One more week without digital painting.

Apart from that, I finished that wolf illustration I had in mind:

And did some one hour or less doodles:

As I have to spend another week just with pencils, at least I plan on doing lots of studies this time, because I really need to get my fundamentals right! :) let's see what happens.

Wednesday 29 August 2012

Hey! :)

After spending a week in my hometown 'cause I had to remove my wisdom teeths, and just sketching some crap in my sketchbooks, I returned to my college town and spent the days doing digital painting again <3

So, I had this idea that came from nowhere of a girl with wolves. And I slowly began to do it, until this point (yes, it's unfinished and it will stay that way):

I was rendering - or at least trying to - the wolves, and realized: what. the. f. was. that. I do not know how to draw a wolf. Never did one.

So I did some studies :) Took me all day, but I'm happy with the results. I learned a lot. And I also have to thanks Fer (http://fdasuarez.deviantart.com/) for the insight about the fur!

And now I'm doing the image I wanted before, haha. Still gonna take me some time tough. And I also have other illustration in mind :) wooo happy week.

AND, I've been very insecure about my college lately. I mean, I know what I want for myself. However, that's not what anyone can teach me here. I'm slowly starting to believe I have to travel far. And my toughts, for the moment, are hovering around California... :) However, the financial problem is, well, still a problem, duh. So, my own self-study will have to do for now!

Thursday 9 August 2012

And finally I'm done :)

Here's some Wips, cause I was having a hard time figuring out his expression:

This is the real size of it:

And this is the final illustration:

I learnt a lot with this one :) And I'm pretty satisfied with it, altrough I know that it's a long way to the top if you want to be an artist, haha.

Sunday 5 August 2012

Not much to say, but that I have a new piece in mind. I did a few sketches, and I think it will take a little bit longer than usual :)

Wednesday 1 August 2012

After nearly two months in my hometown, I'm back to my college city, with my tablet, my deskboard and my monitor :)

In my 'vacations' my mom asked me to paint some beach landscapes, as she wants to hang a print on our house walls. I was without my tablet back then, but now I did some sketches with ArtRage (which I found very nice to use!)

And this morning I used some nib pen with ink to practice more direct lines, as I'm used to do a lot of scratches with the regular pencil. I'll also try to do some of with it the Ink from ArtRage.

It's good to be back :)

Tuesday 17 July 2012

Well, I'm in my hometown now, which means no digital art because I didnt bring my tablet with me. I'm just doing some studies by pencils, and thus, it's the only thing I can show.

These are some faces I did based on photos from a compilation that my friend Alex Negrea shared some time ago.

Thursday 5 July 2012

Well, as Diablo 3 addiction slowly fades away ('cause I'm still playing), I'm studying and painting again.

This is my recent study:

It's a photo study from http://lockstock.deviantart.com/.

And, for the past three days I've been working on this piece, and now I can call it finished:

I know that there are a lot of things to study and become better, but with this one I realized that all the effort you put into something, pays off sometime. This piece boosted my motivation. As Noah Bradley said on his Facebook page, "Don't worry so much. It's probably going to take 5-10 years before you start to really learn how to paint and make a career out of this."

Tuesday 26 June 2012

Gosh.

Sorry for the lack of uploads (and sorry myself for the lack of practice!)

It's all Diablo 3 fault :/ addictive game... but now that I have finished it on Normal and almost on Nightmare, I can return to reality and study again :)

This is an "old" Nessaj I did when I was excited about Dota:

These two studies I made this week. I also sketched some things in my sketchbook, at least.

The second lady I just found on my references folder, sorry :/
